7 Tips for Great Skin At Any Age

By Dianne Daniels 1. Cleanse your face twice a day – Did you know that every time you don’t wash off accumulated dirt and environmental stuff at night, you age your skin 27 days? You can help prevent some premature signs of aging by making sure you cleanse your face every morning and night. In the morning, you are washing off the residue of the cell renewal process, which occurs primarily at night. In the evening, you’re cleansing off the day’s effects on your skin, including exposure to pollution, sun, wind and office building air. 2. Use a skin care system – Putting together a cleanser, toner and moisturizer from what’s on sale at the chain drugstore down the street is a recipe for disaster where your skin is concerned. Use a skin care system with products that are designed and formulated to work together, and you’ll get much better results. Even you die-hard soap and water users could benefit from use of a skin care system. No more guess work about which product is the best for your particular type of skin, or wondering what to do when you run out and your drugstore no longer carries your “favorite” product. Gentlemen, this means you as well! 3. Eat a balanced diet – Yes, we all know that a balanced diet is the healthy thing to do, but did you also realize that a balanced diet helps with the moisture balance and the condition of your skin? Start with a minimum of 8 – 12 glasses of water each and every day, and follow up with lots of fruits and vegetables. Continue with a basic low-fat diet (but don’t starve yourself!) and good-quality protein, and you’ll have a recipe for not only good health, but also great skin! 4. Be gentle – Use a very light touch on your facial skin at all times. If you’re used to rubbing your face or eyes vigorously (if you have allergies, itchy eyes or sensitive skin) you could be aggravating the condition. The skin on your face is very delicate, and the skin under your eyes is the most delicate of all! Never rub under your eyes. If they itch, try a cold compress or washcloth, or a cotton pad moistened with toner or witch hazel. Aggressive rubbing during your cleaning routine can also cause damage. Use a gentle touch on your face at all times. 5. Moderation in alcohol consumption – Alcoholic drinks tend to enlarge the blood vessels near the surface of your facial skin, and prolonged alcohol consumption or abuse can damage your skin. The overall health effects can be very negative, and they’ll show up first in your face! 6. Get your ZZZZ’s The majority of cell repair and generation performed by your body’s systems happens when you are at rest. If you’re not getting enough sleep, your skin can’t renew itself. Find the right sleep balance for you by tracking how you feel when you sleep 6 – 8 hours versus 4 – 6 hours over a 7 to 10 day period. When you feel your best for an extended period, that may be the right sleep level and amount for you. Try to ensure proper rest by winding down from the day’s stressful activities so that you can fall asleep easily and rest completely. 7. Watch out for nature! – Blustery days with lots of wind can cause your skin to become dry and tight. We often protect our skin from winter’s chill winds, ice and snow, but windy days in any season can cause skin damage. If you’re riding in a fast-moving vehicle, or with the window down, make sure to moisturize your skin before and after the ride, especially if you notice any tightness. In fact, don’t wait for the tightness to appear, take extra care with your skin every single day! Follow these tips to help give you great skin at any age! About the Author: Dianne M. Understanding The Millennium (1000 Years Reign) Part 3

By William Bell, Jr. The Return of Christ Another problem with the millennium or 1000 years reign stems from the doctrine of a yet future return of Christ. However, Jesus return occurred in connection with Jerusalems fall in A.D. 70. (See Matthew 24:30, 34). Further complications are from the idea of the removal of the wicked from the world during an alleged future millennium. However, Jesus refuted such a claim when he spoke the parable of the tares to his disciples. They wanted to prematurely remove the wicked, i.e. rapture them from the field or world before Christs coming. First, there would be no need for this if they had anticipated the rapture as modern misguided prophets allege. If the righteous were removed prior to the harvest, it defeats the purpose of the harvest. Why harvest the wicked or the chaff only to burn it up? It makes a mockery of the parable and of the teachings of Christ. To the contrary, Jesus reply was no, for fear that they root up the tares also. Rather they were to let both wheat and tares grow together until the harvest at which time God would cast in the sickle and destroy his enemies. So, no Rapture would occur prior to the end of the age harvest. The End of the Age This brings us to another problem with a literal future millennium. It would occur prior to harvest, which event occurs at the end of the age. However, for Paul, the end of the ages had come upon those in his day. Now these things happened unto them as examples and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (1 Corinthians 10:11). For Paul, harvest (resurrection of the dead) was very near. In fact, he wrote that it would occur before some of those yet living would die (1 Corinthians 15:51). The end of the age refers to the Jewish age, a fact confirmed by Jesus own death in the end of that age, Hebrews 9:26. It was his death, which destroyed the power of Satan and initiated Him into his reign at the right hand of God, thus the beginning of the millennium, (Hebrews 2:14; Acts 2:31-34). In summary, the millennium or 1000 years reign is not a literal 1,000 years. Thousand, in addition to being used literally, is also justifiably used in a figurative sense. Such is the case with the millennium. Secondly, the time statements in Revelation demand an imminent versus a protracted fulfillment of its contents, hence it is now a past event. Third, God prophesied Satans demise in the Old Covenant, thus his defeat and destruction occurs with its fulfillment, a time which Jesus marked as within his own generation in A.D. 70 at Jerusalems fall. Fourth, if Satans demise occurs with the fulfillment of the Old Covenant as shown then the fulfillment of the Old Covenant is also the end of the millennium or the 1,000 years reign. Fifth, the millennium cannot therefore be a literal time frame, but figurative, representing the complete and perfect destruction of Jesus enemies during his pre-Parousia reign. As in the passages mentioned in Exodus 34:7; 1 Chronicles 16:15-17 and Psalms 50:10, thousand does not represent a numerical value, but quality and nature. Sixth, the millennium precedes the harvest, or resurrection, which occurred before some living in the first century died, 1 Corinthians 15:51. Finally, the millennium culminates prior to the end of the age harvest, a time which Jesus called this age referring to the last days of the Old Covenant and in which he was put to death on the cross running their course at the Roman invasion of Judea in A.D 70. Wii Exercise Experiment – Day 30 – 16.4 Pounds Lost and Final Results!

By Tom Klimchak I have officially completed my 30 Day Wii Exercise Experiment in which I spent approximately 30 minutes each day playing the Nintendo Wii (mostly Wii Sports) while wearing a four-pound wrist weight on each arm. During this time period I also tried to eat a healthy somewhat lower calorie diet than I was used to. I also tried to walk at least 5,000 steps every day. Stats and Results Starting Weight: 269.2 pounds Ending Weight: 252.8 Total Weight Lost: 16.4 pounds! Average Daily Wii Time: 33.1 minutes per day Average Daily Calories: 1986 Average Daily Steps: 4619 Wii Fitness Age Low: 25 Wii Fitness Age High: 52 How I Felt After Each Workout At the end of each session I was usually a little out of breath, sweaty and moderately tired. I’d felt as though I’d had a good, healthy but not exhausting workout. Some days I struggled through the 30 minutes, but most days I was having enough fun that I barely noticed the time going by. This was the longest stretch of consecutive days I think I have ever exercised and I found myself actually wanting to play more than just the time I had allotted most days. Differences In Wii Sports Games Boxing and Tennis definitely require the most activity and definitely seem to burn the most calories. The action in both of them is fairly constant, with only a few real pauses in the action. Tennis volleys can go on for three or four fast-paced minutes and boxing only has a small pause between rounds and when there is a knock down. Bowling, Baseball and Golf seem to have too many small breaks in the action. Some of the Wii Sports training modes are short, but can keep you moving for short bursts of time. Wrist Weight Observations The wrist weights definitely made a large difference in my activity level. Four pounds doesn’t seem like much until you have to hold that weight up and swing it around for 30 minutes straight. I always tried to at least keep my arms at waist level and never just let them dangle. I could definitely feel a difference in my arms at the end of the 30 days. While I was initially fearing an increased chance of injury by “throwing out” on of my joints I soon found myself compensating and moving my arms in ways that didn’t thrust them out and risking a nasty case of “Wii elbow.” It’s really not much different than swinging a real bat or tennis racket. The weights really add to exhaustion factor of playing the Wii, especially with games like Wii Boxing and a few of the Rayman Raving Rabids games that require lots of very fast motion. I played a few tennis matches without the weights and found that I barely worked up a sweat at all. More weight would definitely mean a more taxing workout. I’m sure I could get a pretty good workout without the weights, but I would have to play a lot more than 30 minutes each day. Towards the end I found myself wanting to add even more resistance. Importance of Diet While the Wii does provide a good means for exercise and it is a lot of fun, I’m not sure how many calories it really burns. The wrist weights definitely helped me burn calories, but my lower calorie diet also helped with the weight loss. If I wanted to lose weight without modifying diet I really feel as though I would have to play for longer than 30 minutes each day or significantly increase the weight resistance. Playing Wii Tennis for 30 minutes while eating a Big Mac every day for lunch will probably not lead to much weight loss. Overall Conclusions Playing the Nintendo Wii, and especially Wii Sports, is a great way to get kids and adults alike to be more active and to burn a few extra calories. You get out of it what you put into it. If you jump around the room and wave your arms wildly and play for extended periods of time and even add resistance with weights then you’ll undoubtedly burn a lot more calories. Right now Wii Sports seems to be the runaway winner for getting people up off the couch and sweating to the Wii. People just naturally move their entire body when playing these familiar sports games. Most of the other Wii games I’ve played and read about require short bursts of activity with a lot of pauses between the action or very little real arm movement required. The fact that the Nintendo Wii can keep my interest through a tiring workout and keep me coming back for more each morning is a true testament Nintendo’s revolutionary and long-overdue view of the potential in video games. The Next Challenge I’m done with my 30 Day Wii Exercise Experiment, but I’m not done playing video games with the intention to lose weight and increase my health. I have some preliminary pieces of a larger project written, but that may still take some time to complete. In the meantime I’ll continue to blog about my own experiences of exercising with video games as well as other helpful videogame tips for losing weight. I still have plenty of weight to lose and plenty of games to play… Tom has struggled with extra weight and played video games for most of his life. It’s only natural that he would combine his interests in gaming and his desire to lose weight into something tangible and beneficial. He is currently working on a book examining the video game fitness phenomenon and how it can benefits millions of overweight people like himself. Going to College in India – A Cheap Option

By Eshwarya Patel Many individuals are finding it a very cheap option to go to college in India. You may wonder how and why a third world country could be gathering steam in getting people to join but it is simple: cheap. The official language of Indian colleges is English. Thanks to the British occupation of India. Therefore, there is no language problem for a foreigner to take courses. The schools in India are also now well known and respected. IIT schools (Indian Institute of Technology) are to India what MIT and Caltech is to the United States. Your ability to go to these schools is exceptionally higher because you are a foreigner and college admissions consider a privilege to have you. The only thing we recommend you make sure to do is make sure you find an area of India and get appropriate lodging. The lodging provided by schools are often subpar. But there are schools that are quite rich and have lush and vast parks and land. You can view pictures of the campus by looking online or even checking an Indian book database for information on it. Applying to Indian colleges are not so painful for a foreigner but it is important to understand the Visa issue. You must get a Visa issue and acceptance to college will generally help you out very much. Another thing that is important to understand is that although they will speak English from within the college, you cannot expect that they will speak it outside the college. So don’t be afraid to learn a new language. Enjoy A Deeper Tan With The Latest Tanning Bed Bulbs In A Shorter Amount Of Time

By Tim Gorman The latest tanning bed bulbs provide a deeper tan over a shorter period of time. They last long and also radiate less harmful rays. Some of them use a special mirror technology that makes them more efficient. There is a reflective coating in the tubes that focuses the light in one direction and allows the lamp to have more tanning power, while consuming less electricity. They offer better value for money and are suitable for commercial use also. Like tanning beds, there are several kinds of tanning bulbs available. They have different power outputs and produce different tanning effects. It is therefore important to follow the specifications given by the manufacturer while buying tanning bulbs. You must remember that the exposure time to get a healthy tan depends on the type of tanning bulb and its strength. It also depends on your skin type, the level of tanning that you want and how susceptible you are to tanning. Even if you have a tanning bed at home, it is worth going for a few trial sessions to a tanning salon. Overexposure can make you look terrible and can also damage your skin. You may require a few sessions before you see any changes and it may take several weeks for you to acquire the level of tanning you want. If you are using a tanning bed for the first time, try it out for five minutes to test the intensity of the bulbs. Everyone needs a different period of exposure to get a tan. You also need to compare the different types of bulbs available for your tanning bed before you make a choice. Remember that the cheaper tanning bulbs may save you money but they blow out faster. It is better to go for the quality bulbs, even if they cost more. They will last longer and give you a uniform and healthy tan. Vinegar and Weight Loss

By Michael Lewis The Sour Truth ————————– Question: I had a baby 6 months ago and would like to lose some weight. I know that if you’re nursing, you’re not supposed to diet. I have been eating healthy foods high in nutrients, and I have lost a little weight. Would it be harmful to the baby if I started taking apple cider vinegar pills to help with weight loss? Answer: A few vinegar pills probably won’t hurt you or your baby, but they won’t do one bit of good in helping you lose weight either. This old diet fad dates back to the 1970s, when a combination of apple cider, kelp, vitamin B-6, and lecithin was touted as the miracle cure for weight loss. The rationale for this concoction was that it tricked your body’s metabolism. According to the claims, lecithin emulsified body fat, B-6 metabolized the loosened fat, kelp supplied iodine to stimulate the thyroid gland to manufacture more thyroxin to speed metabolism, and vinegar supplied potassium. Like salad dressings where oil and vinegar don’t mix, this was supposed to help rid the body of fat. There Is No Proof ————————– There is no scientific basis, or even rational reason, for any of these claims. For example, a teaspoon of vinegar contains only five milligrams of potassium, a meager amount compared to the 400 milligrams in a cup of grapefruit juice. Swallowing more iodine will jump start a thyroid gland only if you are deficient in this mineral (you’ll know if you are iodine-deprived because you will have developed a goiter, or an enlargement of the thyroid gland). When people lost weight on this regimen it was because they also followed the accompanying low-calorie diet. Like all the other diet fads, from starch blockers and collagen products to herbal diet teas and hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the vinegar pills fit most or all the criteria of a useless gimmick: They promise to melt away fat. They promise fast and effortless weight loss. They promise weight loss greater than one to two pounds a week. They focus on one or a few foods and limit or exclude whole food groups. They are based on pills or “secret formulas.” Start Your Weight Loss Program After Breastfeeding ————————– Save your money and follow the advice of thousands of people who have not just lost weight, but maintained the weight loss. Consume daily a wide variety of nutrient-packed vegetables, fruits, whole grains, extra-lean meats and beans, and nonfat milk or yogurt. Watch your portions, and, most importantly, exercise each day. You also are right about not dieting while breastfeeding. It took nine months to gain the weight during your pregnancy. Plan to begin your weight-loss plan after you’ve stopped breastfeeding, and give yourself at least nine months after that to regain your figure. Recognizing the Risks and Side Effects of Adderall and the Symptoms of Adderall Withdrawal

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tess_Thompson] Tess Thompson If your child has been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, you may have explored the option of treating him or her with a prescription stimulant drug like Adderall. Stimulants are commonly prescribed by doctors for children with ADHD because they have been found to be predominantly safe and effective in treating the symptoms of the condition. They do, however, carry a risk of side effects which can vary in intensity with each person. Stimulants increase brain activity, which in turn can increase a child’s ability to pay attention, and Adderall is a popular child ADHD treatment — about 1 million U.S. children currently take it or its time-released sibling, Adderall XR. Many Adderall users report minor side effects such as loss of appetite, weight loss, insomnia, dizziness and headaches. Although less frequently reported, other side effects include irritability, nervousness, feelings of suspicion or paranoia and restlessness. There are some serious side effects of Adderall that are reported rarely. The most alarming of these are Tourette’s Syndrome, hallucinations, high blood pressure, and rapid heart rate. Any side effects, mild or severe, should be immediately reported to your child’s physician. Adderall is a methamphetamine, and so also carries a risk of addiction. Patients should take the lowest effective dosage, and because each person reacts differently to this medication, it can take some time to figure out what that is. Although Adderall abusers are usually adults, if your child has become disturbingly aggressive or irritable, it could be a sign that he or she is abusing the drug, or has been prescribed an incorrect dosage. If your child is abusing Adderall, abruptly stopping high dosages of the medication can lead to signs of Adderall withdrawal, which can include extreme fatigue and depression. In the most severe but rare cases, patients have reported psychosis. Many find Adderall to be an effective treatment for ADHD and decide it is worth enduring minor side effects, but parents should think hard about the risks involved. This year, Canada pulled Adderall from the market after reports of 20 deaths. They have recently decided to put the drug back on the shelves again because of new research that shows the drug to be safe. However, all stimulants carry a small risk of death, especially among those with heart problems. There are some natural ingredients that have proven effective in the treatment of ADHD symptoms, and which you may decide to try before prescription medication. Some of the best ingredients are Centella Asiatica (also called Gotu Kola), Green Oats (also called Avena Sativa) and Panax Ginseng. Many herbal and homeopathic remedies contain these ingredients and can be a safe alternative to Adderall, should you decide stimulant drugs are not the right choice for your child. Fishing In Alaska, Are You Out Of Your Mind?

By Gregg Hall When someone first mentioned to me about fishing in Alaska all I could picture was sitting on some freezing glacier with a hole cut in a piece of ice two feet thick and catching fish the size of bait I use here in Florida. Boy was I way off! My neighbor lived in Alaska for over twenty years and pulled out pictures of Alaska fishing trips that he and his wife had taken. My first reaction, Thats the biggest flounder I ever saw! Of course it wasnt a flounder; it was a halibut of nearly 200 pounds. Then his wife shows me her sixty pound King Salmon, now Im thinking I need to go fishing in Alaska! If youve always thought of fishing in Alaska like I did its time to change your thinking and plan on going big game fishing in Alaska. As the largest state in the United States, Alaska is full of lakes and rivers and is definitely the place to do some big game fishing. Book a half-day guided fishing tour either in the morning or afternoon with a licensed Alaskan fishing guide. It doesnt matter whether youre an expert or a beginning angler, youll thoroughly enjoy fishing on the Talkeetna River, which is filled with many different kinds of fish species such as salmon and rainbow trout. If you choose to take my advice on this, youll go on a five hour guided trip by a specially equipped jet boat or raft. All of the fishing equipment will be provided for you, but if youre particular interest is in fly fishing youll have to request the fly fishing gear in advance. Rain gear is also provided for you incase of inclement weather and dressing in multiple layers is recommended whether you take part in the morning or afternoon session. Of course youll also be required to obtain an Alaska state fishing license just like you would nearly anywhere. This is just a hint of the incredible fishing adventures that are possible in Alaska. You can totally customize an Alaskan fishing trip specifically to your own personal wants and desires, for example you can plan trips specifically for halibut, King Salmon, or rainbow trout. I plan on going each year and doing a different type of fishing. Just make sure you have the extra cash planned to ship all that fish back home! Just bear in mind if you are booking youre Alaska fishing vacation online that while there are many travel agencies that offer these types of trips it is best to go with a company that is actually located in Alaska for the best support and service. Tan Lines

By Ross Bainbridge Tan lines are stripes formed on the body mainly due to sun tanning. Tanning is a kind of process done by many people to improve their physical beauty and sexual attractiveness. During the tanning process, people wear different kinds of clothing. The portion of the body that is not exposed to sunlight will be a lighter shade than the tanned portion. This is often referred to as tan lines. Certain people consider tan lines fashionable as it implies that tanning is done naturally on a tropical beach. Some people find tan lines sexually attractive. A perfect tan is the one with minimum tan lines. One way to minimize the tan lines is to adjust the straps of the bikini periodically. Another means is by wearing a swimsuit made of highly developed and technologically advanced fabric that offers the opportunity to get rid of tan lines altogether. The advantage of these types of swimsuits is that it allows the suns rays to pass through the fabric. It also prevents the ultraviolet rays (both UVA/UVB rays) from striking the areas that are not accustomed to tanning. Nowadays, these suits are available in a wide variety of colors and cuts and are more affordable than when they first were on the market. Yet another method to avoid tan lines is sunless tanning. Self-tanning has many advantages over the traditional suntan. In the case of self-tanning, the person himself can decide how much dark he/she should be, rather than leaving it up to chance. For those seeking no tan lines, endless varieties of strapless sandals, clothes, towels, indoor tanning lotions, and other related products are readily available, and most of these products are available online. Tan provides detailed information on Tan, Tan Lines, Self Tan, Sun Tan and more. Tan is affiliated with Lip Piercings. Making Summer Friendships Last

By Deborah Shelton Summertime isnt just about getting dirty, staying up all night, playing in the rain, and going off to camp–Its about meeting new people. Follow these tips to turn your vacation acquaintances into lifelong friends. 1. Summer Memory Book Make the summer last forever by preserving memories in a special book. Fill the plastic sleeves of a photo album with photos, ticket stubs, sections of road maps from summer trips, and other mementos. When youre finished, exchange memory books with your closest summer buddy. 2. Picture Postcards Keep in touch with vacation friends by sending picture postcards. Scan summer photos and print them on cardstock paper, 4 per page. Use scissors to cut individual cards. On the blank side, include your friends address, your return address, and a postage stamp. Dont forget to write a cool message! 3. Pen Pal Club Start your own pen pal club! Swap addresses with your new friends and make a commitment to keep in touch. Be creative dont limit yourself to writing letters. Send an inexpensive gag gift every so often, or an audiotape letter. Send lists of your favorite things. For instance, one month send your pen pals a list of your 20 favorite movies, and then compare your lists. No matter how you decide to keep in touch, dont let summer friendships end when summer ends.
